Animals and pathogens reported
Animal Pest reports were compiled from survey responses, and are available for all the
taxa below.
The weed survey did not emphasize animal pests, so these reports only
list the pests, their threats, and various comments on prevention or
control methods. Contact addresses are included.
Disclaimer: Please note that this list should not be interpreted as an
inclusive list of all wildland weeds. It is merely a list of those plants which
were reported as weeds by a land manager of The Nature Conservancy. Most of
these are non-native species, some are native that are invading because of
other management practices (i.e. fire suppression). For more information
about the species listed on our web site, refer to our
important disclaimer page.
Amphibians/Reptiles (2 pages)
Includes: anoles, frogs, toads, unspecified amphibians, and unspecified reptiles.

Includes: canada geese, cowbirds, crows, gulls, raptors, swans,
turkeys, and unspecified birds.

Cats/Canines (3 pages)
Includes: cats (ferals, stray pets), coyotes, dogs (ferals, stray pets), foxes.

Fish (3 pages)
Includes: baitfish, catfish, common carp, game fish, mosquitofish,
northern pike, river ruffe, sea lamprey, short-fin mollies,
tilapia, trout, and unspecified fish.

Hoofstock (5 pages)
Includes: cattle (stray), deer, elk, goats (stray), pigs (feral), sheep (stray).

Invertebrates: Aquatic (2 pages)
Includes: asiatic clams, crayfish, ghost crabs, slugs, spiny water
flea, zebra mussels, and unspecified aquatic invertebrates.

Invertebrates: Terrestrial (3 pages)
Includes: fire ants, grasshoppers, gypsy moths, mosquitos,
Rhinocyllus conicus, woolly adelgids, unspecified insects,
and unspecified invertebrates.

Includes: armadillos, beavers, fox squirrels, mongooses, muskrats,
nutria, prairie dogs, rabbits, raccoons, rats, skunks, and
