IMPORTANT!
Let us know if you are using WIMS 3!

Please let us know if you are using WIMS 3, because this helps to justify the time and resources we spend to maintain the Access files, create support documents and make WIMS 3 available for everyone. If you download and use WIMS 3, please send a short message to wims(at)tnc.org indicating:
  1. Your name, affiliation and contact information;
  2. If you are a past WIMS user or if you are trying-out WIMS 3 for the first time;
  3. If you are only using the WIMS 3 Desktop interface or with a handheld unit;
  4. How many acres (or hectares) you manage; and
  5. If you would like to be added to an electronic WIMS 3 Newsletter digest, which should only clutter your inbox with an email message when new updates are released or other WIMS 3-related information (not more than 4 emails per year!).

Upgrade and Update information for WIMS 3
WIMS 3 is now available, and is compatible with either ArcPad 6.0.3, ArcPad 7.0.1, or ArcPad 7.1. ArcPad 7.1 registration licenses are now available for TNC staff.

Previous problems with the Dell Axim X51/X51v and CF GPS cards appear to have been solved with a ROM update. If you have one of these handheld units, be sure to do this ROM update. The ROM updates are available here:
X51 ROM update
X51v ROM update

TNC no longer has ArcPad 6.0.3 registration licenses available for staff, but does have ArcPad 7.1 licenses. Ask your state/operating unit GIS or TIS Specialist (TISOM) about obtaining ArcPad 7.1 if you are interested in using WIMS 3.

Technical Difficulties?
All Users--there is a web-based WIMS 3 Message Board designed to support all WIMS 3 users at http://ice.ucdavis.edu/wimsnew/. At this site, you can post questions, suggest programming updates/changes, find out who else is using WIMS 3, and check for training opportunities and updates. As the WIMS 3 usership grows, we anticipate that more people will be able to share their experiences, and a support network will develop.

TNC Staff Only--As of February 1, 2005, we have established technical support for all TNC staff at the Enterprise Help Desk. If you have any technical and/or installation difficulties, please call them. They are trained in WIMS 3 and should be able to answer your questions.
